While looking on the map for directions to another location, I spotted this house tucked behind a restaurant. Then found out it was part of a huge piece of land that has development plans.
When I arrived to check it out, there was a minivan backing out of the driveway. That stopped and a woman yelled out asking me for the time, then drove off. Seeing the boarded windows, that it was nearly 11pm at night and the van being in pretty ruff shape. I didn't think much of it and continued on. Checking out the vintage mid century architecture.
Brushing off the woman in the minivan almost came back to bite me lol. I walked in an open backdoor and started getting my gear ready to shoot. When I heard a woman and man talking, then what sounded like heavy machinery getting closer. After 20 minutes of waiting for people to come inside, it went quiet again. I went back outside to find a bobcat parked right in front of the open door!
After waiting on the property to see if anyone was going to return. I figured it was just equipment being dropped off for work in the coming days, and should shoot the house while I can. I went inside to find an empty, decaying 1950s classic home. So many incredible features that are just not seen anymore.
It was a great find! Even with almost being caught lol.
