As always, today started off early with a walk around the park with the dog.
He didn't seem very enthusiastic. But we got on our way just in time to see a car accident on the route I usually take.
But we made it to the park and my dog got to try out his new leash which is way longer than his old one. He got to wander and sniff a bit more than he usually would. Also means he was ore vigilant when he saw the squirrels.
Finished with the dog walk then had to get ready to walk to work. Similar route to my dog walk but took a different route through the forested part to get to work. Don't think I've photographed the park from this angle before.
About a 30 minute walk to work, in the light rain, not heavy enough for an umbrella but heavy enough I got to work damp :(
At lunchtime another walk to get lunch from Subway.
If you look at the road its pretty dreary...
but focus on the flowers along the way and it is much nicer.
After work I have to walk home in the rain, again, 30 minutes of damp. Arrive at home and have to take the dog out for his evening walk...
On the plus side I got to see the aftermath of the mornings accident.
And finally I get back home. My parents in law had friends over. They were all speaking Itawis (a filipino dialect). I tried to learn Tagalog (main filipino language) before they came to live with us but only found out too late I was learning the wrong language.
They can speak English but choose not to.
Net result... after a long cold wet day I can't make dinner because the kitchen is crowded. Can't watch TV because the guests children are in there. Can't go to the living room because my wife and friends are in there (speaking Itawis).
So, I sit quietly in a room full of people speaking a language I don't understand, feeling like a stranger in my own home.
Kind of sucks but they are all having fun.
Finally the guests go home and I can retire to bed. My son's creep out of their room when its quiet and English is being spoken again :D
I find out my youngest son got a buzz cut (he hated his perm from before....too much work).
