Day 53: Didn't think I was going to make it today. My Actifit Report Card: March 8 2023
Ever feel like you hit the wall? (like this giant wall of blackberry bushes).
Or that there are barriers to you getting where you want to go? (like the closed sidewalk on my normal path).
Well. That was my day today.
As I mentioned yesterday I got a shingles vaccine. Now as a pharmacist I know that when I get a vaccine the body is going to react to the vaccine in order to give me immunity. I know what to expect and that's why I didn't get the vaccine when I had to work the next day.
However, that doesn't make things any easier! Last night I was nauseated and dizzy. My arm hurt. I has sweats and chills. Then I wake up with body aches and my hips ached
Mostly I felt grim.
My first thought in the morning....Forget this. No coin hunt, no dog walk, no Actifit, I'm going to lie in bed and be miserable.
I think my dog agreed with me because he is still moping about his bad haircut. He hopped into bed with me which he has never done in 4 years in the house.
I just put my bible app on read mode and listened to Psalms for the first half hour of my day. Then I thought about it and decided I wasn't giving up.
I took an Ibuprofen and had some breakfast. Waited 30 minutes and then forced myself to take the dog for his walk. My feet felt like lead. I felt like I was plodding along at half speed with no spring in my step.
But I was able to get some steps in. Then return home and do errands around the house. Home made spaghetti sauce. Home made chocolate. fruit parfait for the upcoming week, do the dishes and help my son change the oil on his motorcycle.
After the oil change my son wanted to go for a walk with the dog and I. I just wanted to crawl in bed but I only have so many opportunities to spend time with my son's so I'll take them whenever I can.
So, I trudged through another 6000 steps and chatted with my son about lots of different life stuff.
However, now that I have my 10K steps and can post I'm officially done. No stretches today. No balancing exercises. No situps and no pushups. Those can wait until I feel better.
Being active just isn't optional though. Neglecting prayer and reading my bible are even less optional.
Do the important things first....
... then post about it on Actifit :)
Thanks for reading,
Until tomorrow :)
