Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! Today let's talk about something that could be considered somewhat of a theory. That would be the etiquette during a SHTF (Stuff Hits The Fan), WROL (Without Rule Of Law) or TEOTWAWKI (The End Of The World As We Know It) scenario! The one thing all of these scenarios have in common is that there will be a certain nature of the beast that kicks in with all people of the world!
Now this may not apply to all people, but it is a good thing to consider! So let's go over a few possibilities of how this whole deal might go down!
Theory 1
I'll go with the lightest possible theory first! This theory does in fact have evidence to support it! This theory would be that people would band together and help each other out! You may think this is highly unlikely, but like I said there is evidence of this happening. It was the year 2003 and the northeastern US and parts of southeastern Canada had suffered a massive power outage. I remember seeing the news story that came as a surprise to many people. This story was about how the people of NY City banded together and helped each other! Now I'm not saying that everyone helped each other, because as we all know there are always some bad eggs! But the possibility of this scenario may not be as far off as we think!
Theory 2
This theory involves the isolation of individual communities (Development of "New Countries") that serve each other and develop their own form of government! Now this is a very good possibility as well! Now this could also pan out a couple of different ways! There could be peaceful communities that have no issue with anybody and just want to be left alone! And then we may have the "War" Community that feeds it's patrons with the trophy provisions of other communities and would have no issue starting a conflict to stay alive! And I am sure there will be the "middle" community that is indifferent to either of these other two types of communities! They would be neither for or against "war." This is another very likely scenario!
Theory 3
All out war and destruction! Violence in the streets and looting of homes and local businesses. It would be an all out run for your life or stay and fight to the death type scenario! I believe that this would mostly be fueled by fear and the occasional desire to do horrible things in some! This situation is the one that everybody pictures when they think "Apocalypse." I myself even see this type of scenario in my head! The way the world is turning nowadays; it really makes me lean towards this theory more than others! I would like to think that this may not be the way it goes down, but I also cannot rule it out either! I would imagine this being a real possibility in urban areas more than rural. When you put a lot of people together they tend to get fed up with each other and without law in place this has a potential to be a rough deal!
Theory 4
Total Isolation: This would be a scenario where there is little life left in the world. People would basically be isolated and scavenging for the essentials! This type of situation may involve little to no human interaction outside of you sheltering place! Some may have families and others may have no one! Regardless there would be little interaction outside of your home! Now meeting new people may still be a possibility, but at the same time may involve a not so friendly exchange! Or on the other hand it could be totally neutral! I can not say for sure, but I personally believe that it involves an individuals personal beliefs and attitude that will dictate the situation. A long period of isolation could also change a person as well! Anyways, this is a scenario that would arise from a nuclear/world war type of situation. This may be the least likely, but it is still a possibility that we may not want to rule out!
So these are just a few theories about how the etiquette of mankind may be in the event of a SHTF, WROL or TEOTWAWKI Scenario. I'm sure there are other theories out there, but these are just a few of mine! Basically, the moral of this is to not trust anyone until given a reason to just in case! Now there are certain exceptions here of course! I mean family and "Real" Friends that you know would "die" for you and you the same to them! The unfortunate truth ladies and gents is that your backyard could potentially become a battlefield and this may make your stomach churn; but sadly this is something to mentally and physically prepare for in my opinion!
