Ladies and Gentleman, Let's Talk about keeping the sun out of your eyes! Now in some cases it may not be as important as it may be in others! But one scenario in particular would be a snowy environment. Another reason to protect your eyes may be in the desert in a sand storm or even just out and about. So let's talk about how to make your own Shades!

alt

This is a a very simple process. It may not be the most comfortable feeling solution, but at the same time it may be more comfortable keeping your eyes safe! So let's check out how to do this:

Step 1

Gather a nice sized piece of canvas cloth or flexible tree bark (birch or younger trees with more flexible bark) and size it to your eyes so that it fits across your face like a pair of sunglasses.

Step 2

Cut to size and in shape to a pair of your favorite baller shades! Also cut a bridge for your nose.

Step 3

Cut small horizontal slits over where you eyes would be centered so that you can see out of them.

Step 4

Poke holes so you can run a string or similar cordage through to make a head strap. Size to circumference of your head.

Step 5

Put on and be the coolest person in the wild!!!

This can be a very easily accomplished improvised piece of survival gear. It may also prove to be a necessity to prevent snow blindness and protection against a sandstorm or vicious rainstorms. Your field of view will be slightly more limited, but this is a small sacrifice for keeping your eyes intact. I hope you find this useful and worthy of putting in the mental toolbox for a rainy day (or a snowy one). Thank you for reading!! : )
