Maybe you could do daily evens, so players would not play just once per weak on Sunday, expecting to beat everyone's score. This daily score would add up to a total weakly score and players would be motivated to play everyday.
Players or (and) you could post scores everyday, maybe 🤷‍♂️community would interact more by commenting on these posts? Probably game would have better chances to get noticed buy other hivers who might join.

Could not agree more with @lorddiablo about pins and spawn waves, which could be random it would be more interesting to play it, but they have to be fair for every player. Last season I was anticipating for new weapons and energy drink to be unlocked, which unfortunately did not happen...
