Turning a blogging platform into a daily writing contest isn't going to change anything. Steem is losing value because there is no demand for the token and the blockchain keeps creating more supply. There is no reason why anyone outside of the steem ecosystem would want to hold the steem token. Add in the fact that they've made onboarding impossible and you've got a fairly worthless token.
