I am sure you have heard the common saying...
Two's company Three's a Crowd
Well in today's post we are heading to the seaside and a tail about three ravens!!
Tail / Tale get it ... don't you just love the English language!
I live on the coast and the beach is a ten minute walk from home. We have a promenade as well as the beach itself.
If you have seen the park that I live close to, then you might know or have seen me show photographs of the local stream or burn that flows into the sea.
The pictures in this post were all taken on March 15th 2025. Four images were used to make the lead image on Canva and at the bottom of the post is a gif that was created by my google photos AI.
That burn is the Teal Burn.
In the background you can see the railings on the promenade.
The two ravens are standing on a concrete block which was part of the war defenses for World War 2. The blocks were put on beaches to stop German tanks invading.
They now are also used to stop the erosion of the little sand cliffs that are on this side of the beach.
I see you!
If you look at the differences in the two pictures, you can see that in the picture below the raven is ducking down as if to see who has the audacity to share the block!
What a Racket!
Holy moly what racket a wee bird can make!
You guessed the block was indeed invaded by a third raven.
After the perfect landing, the third raven started to make its way up the angled concrete block.
Meanwhile the noisy raven was still at it!
Yes we all fluffing heard you!
The intruder climbed the summit and a semblance of normality was restored!
However the newest raven on the block was doing the looking down as if to see if an intruder was coming!
Even the first raven was interested now!
Look out! Noisy is even having a look!
So far so good
They all completed their surveillance and no new ravens were incoming, so noisy had to keep his beak shut!
Remember I said about the cliffs on the other side of the beach. Well they had a watcher!

Before I choose my picture for the competition entry I thought I would have some fun and make a wee gif from four of the photographs!
I think it turned out really well as not only did it show Noisy and the landing of the intruding raven but it showed two of the ravens in the background on the promenade!
Don't you just love fun things, and doing fun things. When something is fun, we do it for longer. This applies to Hive, make it fun and you will enjoy it!
And I shall pick this one for the entry
A Double Action Shot
Not only was Noisy captured with head tilted to the heavens and its beak parted for the howling but we captured the action landing of the intruder on the block with wings spread and eyes looking where he is going!
