Object Number 1 ~ Red Post Box

In the UK our postal service is traditionally provided by the Royal Mail.

This is a little post box a couple of minutes of walk away from our house.

image.png

I did take the picture on Friday 11th July and you can see that blue sky, yes we are in a mini heatwave of a few days.

On the way back from the beach yesterday we saw another post box..

image.png

Does it look like it is in a wall to you?

Let's have a look...

image.png

Oh look it in the wall of a local convenience shop, which is also red! Oh look this is a twofor!!!
image.png

Seeing I mentioned the beach, let's have a look at some different red things!

Object Number 2 ~ Paddleboard

image.png

The gorgeous weather over the last few days have brought plenty of sea activities.

And this lady had a few positions up her sleeve!

image.png

and my favourite which shows the colour of the paddleboard most clearly ...

image.png

There was another red one, and to show I am not sexist ...

image.png

His red paddleboard in my detail!

image.png

image.png

We may as well stay at the beach and see what finds we saw!

Object Number 3 ~ Pottery shard or do you say pottery sherd

Even Mrs T was getting in on the act of looking for red objects!

Look she said ...

image.png

She loves to look for sea glass and pottery shards. We are not on an archaeological site so probably these are not sherds as such, but it is a fun term to say.

image.png

Both pictures were taken on Friday as were the paddleboard pictures.

image.png

Object Number 4 ~ something else red and British!!

I wonder if you can choose which red I was looking at from this next picture which was also taken on Friday...

image.png

No , not the dress or behind!

The car ... what used to be so iconic for being British was MG

image.png

That logo .. MG

Yes, MG (Morris Garages) is historically and fundamentally a British automotive marque.

It was founded by Cecil Kimber in the 1920s in Oxford, England, as a sales promotion sideline of Morris Garages, a retail sales and service center for William Morris. MG quickly became famous for its open two-seater sports cars, which became icons of British motoring.

Of course now like so many things that were British it is owned by foreigners, this time Chinese in 2005 I think...

image.png

Talking of foreigners we walked around the corner and saw this foreign red car...

image.png

And in front of us, is a beat up relic of the past, and was back in the idea so iconic of the UK...

image.png

You know that is ?

image.png

Object Number 5 ~ Love

I think it is fitting to close out the post with the fifth object being a depiction of love ...

image.png

I did take this yesterday, it is our local heart at the end of the promenade.

It was created a couple of years ago...

View from the sea

image.png

Kirkcaldy red Heart

This is with the haar rolling in from the sea ...

image.png

Take it looking inland and there is no haar!

image.png

I hope you had fun with our five wee stories!

But wait ... bonus time, we did go looking for red things on our walks on Friday 11th July and Saturday 12th July 2025, so these are some that never made the cut!!!
