I bet most of you posted and greeted your mothers with cheezy captions, but what will you do for her in the next 364 days?
Yesterday was Mother's Day so I went to see and be with my mother. I have 5 older sisters and I am the only thorn among the roses and also the youngest. Few days ago sister no. 4 called to tell me to be ready on Sunday because we will bring our mother to her favorite restaurant in Binondo. That was the original plan. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out the way we planned it, my other elder sisters which were sister 1,2,3, and 5 didn't like the idea. So I ended up visiting her in Rizal instead.
When my "Nanay" saw me, It somehow put a smile on her face. I knew she was disappointed that the treat didn't push through. Regardless if the place is near or far I would still say yes, because, its Mother's day, not siblings day. I wish the plan still went through, So my Mother would be happy. It's a once in a year occasion.
I am not a perfect son. I sometimes give my nanay a headache. But I plan to do or give her something that makes her happy. She is 82 years old, the life she has is actually a bonus from above as what they often say. So in the next 364 days, I will make sure to make her happy, it could be a phone call, a favorite perfume, a date or by just telling her every day how much she means to me.
