Hey Dtube,
I have been on Steemit for a while and there seems to be an ongoing controversy on the use of bots. A school of thought thinks bots only gives you an illusion of productivity, another school believe that bots are used for advertisements. There's actually a lot of noise about bots.
Personally, I am undecided because the truth is on Steemit getting visible isn't a walk in the park, you need to put in the work;being consistent and engaging meaningfully however while on that journey it takes real tenancity to keep coming back even when you don't get meaningful up votes. The use of bots kind of helps you console yourself hahahahah.
Let's take an hypothetical example say I invested 3 SBD to bid for a particular post, and I got back 2.899 SBD and 0.709 Steem, would you say my investment was profitable? Considering the fact that the upvoting bots would get rewarded for upvoting me anyway.
In this video I shared a session had with @surpassinggoogle on the subject matter and I think he has a great perspective.
So whats your take on the use of bots, is there a way to use bots and be profitable or its simply a waste of time?
