apart from being a business owner, as a private individuals we got to move with trends.. And constantly upgrade in the aspext of finding better ways to do things even if its the basics. Better ways to handle customers, to communicate effectively, to speak publicly and/or convincingly etc.

That a particular format is working for another business does not mean that you should go with that format, except you have proven it to work for you too.

In this aspect, others strategy you know are not really meant to be copied verbatim but used as a stepping stone to redefining it to a better one you could use.
