Week 07 - Edition 03 Topic
“YOUR FAVORITE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION”
Imagine if there were no security issues, no traffic and the risk of accidents has been reduced to the barest minimum... What would be your favorite mode of transport? Give us your reasons.
Basically, transportation is the word that captures the means or medium by which entities such as goods, humans etc. are moved from one place to the other. I believe that definition captures the scenario from mere logistics to huge earth-moving machines. I think there have been some misinterpretations of the mode of transport we have. Now, according to Wikipedia, the modes of transportation are LAND, AIR and WATER. I know you may be looking for rail, road, etc. Actually, those could be referred to as parts of the land mode of transportation.
Now, to the main thing…
Since I was born I have always been familiar with the land mode of transportation both in recognition and boarding. I only know about the other modes, I have not really seen them in real life except in movies – at least now the movies have their advantage here. So, when I got the prompt I thought of just sticking to the one I knew but deep down I had always wanted more than that.
Although, all the various modes of transportation all have their respective two sides of the coin and the gravity that their accidents entail. But really in terms of my personal interests, I would love to have Air transportation as my chosen one. Still considering that the security measures are brought down to zero.
Presently, the air transport system has the fastest means above the other mode of transport. This implies that instead of leaving home for about 2-3 hours before the time of a proposed meeting or engagement due to issues of unforeseen circumstances, gridlocks etc. as the case may be on land that I have been acquainted with; I could leave just a few minutes (or hours, as the case may be) before and still meet up. This will even save time and consequently, efficacious time management. On a larger scale, it is the most used for long-distance journey.
As I said .. in terms of my interests .. I am someone who likes to view landscapes and vegetation as natural as they could seem. Most times when I travel long distances by bus (land), I do not get the anticipated views I wanted. It is either the vehicle is too fast or some obstacle gets in the way due to my angle of sight. Here, apart from the fact that it saves time, it grants me access to aerial views of a geographical area undiluted, straight from nature itself.

For now, these are the two main reasons for reckoning with air transport, maybe as time goes on more may come in. And with these, I look forward to taking my first flight sometime someday.
