If you don't know where you are going, you may end up accompanying someone who knows his destination to where he is going (perhaps destiny).
This is due to the fact that it is that goal ahead, if truly determined, that will streamline the individual’s activity such as behaviours, reasoning, and even eating patterns. That is basically how life itself is. Largely enough, Hive is no exception to this fact.
Since I joined Hive, I think there were two major times when I set goals (publicly) pertaining to my growth on the chain. Even though, in the early days of my arrival, I just did mere things like posting seldom, did engagements quite enough for a newbie, etc. Then, came the time for the newbies initiative where one of the tasks was for all participants to publish their goals relating to how project their growth will be at the end of the initiative. Well, as the universe would have it for me, I smashed those goals recklessly.
The next one was the last power-up day, which was and still is my first HPUD. Here, I basically focused my goals on increasing my HP – doubling it actually – before the end of the year and also venturing into delegations too. In the same vein, I highlighted how I planned to go about it. This actually came at a time I felt that my Hive-self was kind of dormant, ever since the newbies initiative ended. So, I decided to push myself some more.
How Far, Really?
Well, not yet far but we are moving! Starting with the Hive Power, at the time of setting that goal, I had about 400HP and the goal was to get it doubled before 2022 runs out. Presently, I am at approximately 500HP which means I have about 300HP to go. This roughly implies 150HP per month thing considering the last two months of the year. I was able to achieve my present HP due to frequent power-ups of rewards from my posts. It is worth noting that I don’t wish to power up all my posts due to the fact that I still need some HBD to cater to some emergency needs. Anyway, if that will be sacrificed for the greater goal, then so be it. Well, maybe that is because I don’t see myself doing the power down because if I do, how much of that will remain? But perhaps in the near future.
In the same vein, I have started using @ecency frontend even more than before especially for writing and publishing my posts and for engagements too. Ecency points are rewards one can get when you use the front end which in the long run can be used to boost content.
With respect to delegations, @indiaunited is the only one that is on my list of beneficiaries. This does not imply that I do not have other ones in mind. In fact, there are lots. Some are in form of curation trails, communities, tokens, etc. The top guys on my list are
@psyber-x and Bro tokens. For now, I know some things about the former but very little about the latter. But no rushing anywhere, to make decisions like this takes some time for due diligence to be done. And I will commence asking about them from the people I know that have been actively involved with them.
Very well, I had it in mind to learn the popular blockchain gaming platform – Splinterlands but that is pegged till further notice to myself. This is due to the fact that the lecturers’ strike I often mention for some months now has called it off, so in other to prepare my spirit, soul, and body for school I had it pegged. So for now, it is just me working on the goals set at the beginning of the month. I know my plans may look small but one step at a time can go a long way!
This is my entry for the Hive Learners week 32 edition 1 topic which you can check out here.
