Since I posted this in a wrong tag, I am updating the post to fit better.

So I am gonna talk a little bit about my art process:
I always start with a square canvas, a 4000x4000 or 5000x5000 resolution one (unless I am drawing an emote, in that case I make do with 800x800).

The first thing I do to the canvas - I give it a pale shade of some color, or just make it light gray - this helps me prevent my eyes from stressing out. It is on this soft shade layer that I start sketching:

Here's a sketch of Pitaya dragon cookie I have done a while ago.

If the character is really difficult then I will do another sketch layer where I am adding in all the details, otherwise, I proceed to work on the lineart.
