Yeah I agree with your viewpoint and I didn't mean that rewards are taboo; not to be discussed. Or that they won't (or shouldn't) be realised as what separates this system from the rest.
I meant that to lure with rewards is a negative. The fact comments are now getting rewarded on LEO (and hopefully soon on Hive too) is then crucial because commenting is a given on any platform. Users do it without expecting anything. A user that then returns to see an actual dollar amount on that comment would automatically see that this system is superior. So then that's the bonus that keeps users, without the sell.
So then as you make point, simply providing that user experience is what the system needs to master. Looks like that's starting to happen too so it's a good sign.
