There's a vital flaw in your analysis.
You're assuming that people will make a switch from a FREE SYSTEM with no limitations of interactivity. To a system where it actually costs to interact (RC is still a cost.) This is why the unspoken truth of Hive/steemit is that they are Pay2Play platforms and definitely PAY2WIN.
Who on earth is going to go from
To..
That's why everything is so small here because it's only the people that DO commit to the money game that stay active. So then the only solution that can then grow the value of HIVE as you outlined is for the tribe/dapp developers to actually carry the costs (steemit had the right idea) but then the accounts created become vital. You want them engaging with the system just right. Just sitting there idle like so many accounts created by many users here does nothing for HIVE.
Take aggroed's tribe system for example. He wants hundreds of dollars upfront to create a tribe for people. So he really doesn't give a crap if it's a good tribe or not.. he gets paid is what matters to him. Yet that means his product doesn't really appeal. So it's a microservice.
If however, he bore the cost and 'gifted' tribes that had real potential with a plan to generate activity then YES he's taking a risk, but then it's an investment that pays off if that tribe generates high traffic and user commitment.. and in among that large userbase IS BUYERS.
So that's the only way I see "1000 leofinances" ever achieving the demand for hive token that people here want. Someone with capital needs to bankroll it and manage its growth. Just like LEO.
Thinking that users in increments will blow up the token demand is illogical. Because as I pointed out in the beginning of this comment, that's hoping that users will switch from a free system to a paid system without even having a clue how this paid system works.
So that's why the model here sucks.
Getting traffic is broken because there's a clear cost. HIDDEN but it's there.
3Speak airdrop might be a clever tactic then.. but they have not made clear how their system will work. They also have poor marketing. So again, it might be yet another HIVE INTERNAL project that gets no eyes where it matters and might be dead in the water due to that.
This HIVE thing needs mass audience.
I would do that with a mobile chat app to target the whole crypto world first.. then expand it to the social world. Essentially poach discord users across the www. Make clear that activity on the system has a clear benefit: Reward of a token drop at a certain stage just like how uniswap did (sized according to interactions with the system). Then gage the network before building it out accordingly with services such as what Hive has and what is already part of the social web. The people (network) then determine what's value. Investors then come knocking seeking to play the big money game. Really making this crap THE NEXT WEB.
Of course I can't code though and I also think Blockchain is not quite there yet to even do such a high traffic systems of video, streaming, high chat. So really it's all a while away. Plus once money is involved things get complicated. Just look at the telegram debacle.
LEO success makes sense because it's expanding crypto blogging into a world that's crypto minded. We can't expect that just any old idea can succeed like LEO because that general wide audience is still happy on mainstream.
AUDIENCE MATTERS IMMENSELY.
