Well he did utilise "decentralised" as a magic shield which so many people believe makes crypto exempt from the reach of bodies of authority and regulation around the world.
I agree with your point that it's the end users that need to handle the dispute but ultimately as an individual they can still exercise legal representation in their home country. When that occurs, authorities look into the system/platform and regardless of how it operates, they put pressure to access information.
Anyway my point wasn't exclusively on legality but actually on the communication between coders. Also on the personas which are presented to the audience, which are lacking. This is why I make point of LEO videos and even make the point that a black screen video lacks emotion.
A solution?
One thing Hive has, is digital artist, and illustrators. I imagine a community initiatives where that talent is utilised and those black videos get reimagines and then put to the public as visual content, which is instantly realised as representation of community engagement.
Imo, collaboration between collectives vs just one, or a couple of established content creators is an untapped and guaranteed-to-succeed manner of content creation. Which, coincidentally, is precisely why patreon is so successful. People that have no creative flare still want to play a part in the process so they support their favourite content creators with money. To then see their name in the credits, which is then the reward.
That's why I believe collectives creating content is even more powerful. The future standard. To see your input as part of the content - that is then likely bringing in users - would be immensely more rewarding than just donating money.
That's then how I see a platform like Hive enticing mainstream users by thousands daily. When the content itself represents connectivity between people. Not by just saying "join Hive: we are superior because we are web3." However, imo, there's still too much missing, specially in the social connectivity tools, so to try to entice outsiders under that method would not retain the traffic.
