I don't think comparison is what's happening. The onboarding is about generating an AUDIENCE. 2.0, 3.0, even stone age. It's always about connecting people.
Whether people are the product or you are giving people ability to achieve purchasing power is something that can't be compared, clearly. One system is parasitic while this new system, aims to liberate.
At least that's the claim.
There are clearly commonalities though. SOCIAL. CONTENT. SHARING. CONNECTIVITY. VALUE. OPPORTUNITY. NETWORK. TIME. and so on. If the new system wants to appeal over the old, then it needs to do what the old system does (without flaw) or do it better.
If it can't then WTF makes it exist as an upgrade? That's why I despise discord. How exactly is web3.0 better if it's reliant on a web2.0 centralised chat system to keep connectivity. That's fucken absurd.
But oh yeah I forgot.
Money chasers accept it.
Edit: my ending was too harsh. People here are THE VALUE because many come from disadvantages circumstances. However without the rewards this would be non existent. The missing elements are accepted because.. money. I'm not against money I just believe these systems needed to gain mass audience first.
It still needs to be the approach.
Rewards are then the superior reason why it's web.3 among the other claims: centralised, immutable, etc. That's why I see it as years away. Sucks though because the greatest opportunity to gain that large audience in now now now!
