Excellent post man and I agree that Nintendo have hit a homer with this. It's got so much replayability and all-ages fun which includes the whole family, even the furry ones which you've highlighted.

The Mario franchise is genius and the key is constant development and marketing. To both the nostalgia die-hards and the new gens that instantly form an affinity to the character.

Personally I've always stayed on PlayStation but this is attractive. On your point on needing to vacuum pet hairs, I got a visual thought of a kid blowing the hair from the cart then Dad getting a flashback to blowing the dust out of the cartridge when he was a kid.
