That's exactly right.

I'm not against what this chain is doing I just think it's missing the glue to keep communities on Hive. Worse, it's giving away the activity which is the quintessential glue: connectivity.

The other flaw I believe hurting growth is that an agreed rule is that content can only come from creators IN HIVE. Yet the oddity is, people want to attract creators that are already creating on other platforms, BUT THEN.. the paradox is that the system rewards curators over creators.

WTF!?

So fat cats want to sit hidden in discord, signed in to curation trails while others do the work.

GO FUCK YOURSELF whoever thinks that's a good system and plays that cancerous game.

Backtrack a little and point out an absurdity:

• Content creators that are doing videos on YT merely need to copy paste their content over here to get rewards.
• They don't even engage we the community and simply dump their crap here. Some just dump links to OTHER PLATFORMS where the content is like Library. They leech rewards from Hive while they take users attention away from Hive.
• But then if anyone posts content that might be appreciated by the community, (and is not theirs) it's a NO NO and it will likely get flagged.

So then, SHARING content from out there... HERE actually exists but under strange (not actually thought-out) conditions.

That's why I believe SHARING CONTENT that communities see value in to build their engagement is an untapped asset. Because then, you build the content found on Hive.

• LOTS OF CONTENT TO RETAIN ATTENTION.

You can then reward "untalented users" that just like to look for good things and share it with their friends. Sharing is what NETWORK EFFECT essentially is. So Hive by design, limits it.

DISCOVERY is another important element to building networks, so then by allowing the SHARING in order to maintain a large cache of diverse content (to drive the user growth) you then have: HIVE ORIGINAL CONTENT as the premium and also what ultimately elevates the chain as a place others would want to create content for.
From that, emerges a prestigious tittle:

HOC* (insert rewards amount to lure creators).

THAT however can only be reality once the growth has generated enough of an audience to make HIVE a place with decent viewership that then gives meaning to the slogan:

HIVE - JOIN THE REVOLUTION.

Because as is, viewership is simply woeful. 3Speak is the video of Hive but the views (on even popular uploaders) are so small that logically, that is just not going to make anyone want to leave their external networks for then have their work gather cobwebs.

Anyway token price matters to many here. Obviously people want that to rise, specially if they committed money, or time, or both. Strangely, I think that this low price was a blessing. The BTC movement not having any effect on Hive woke the fuck up many. There's no "Alt season" like past years.

In 2021: It's time to grow titties or chest hairs.
Or both lol.. it's a strange dystopian world.
