A frontend doesn't generate content on it's own. If the data broadcasted to the chain is altered then that is the only FACT that matters. I think you need to revisit the video and hear Matt make a very crucial statement at 21:59
If something is illegally published on the platform, we have a mechanism to stop that from happening. If we get a legal take down notice, we will comply with the local laws.
That also answers and makes irrelevant your point of
you need a decent amount of all kinds of people to agree with it. so i am pretty sure that it will not happen for anything that has to do with speech or being offensive.
This is what I struggle to understand about people here.
Do people not hear words and realise their meaning correctly?
WE WILL HAVE A MECHANISM = A BACKDOOR TO MUTE DATA
WE WILL COMPLY WITH LOCAL LAWS = WE CAN AND WILL CENSOR UNDER ORDERS
Beyond that statement I really have no interest in what he has to say.
That's what is known as A GATEKEEPER and so if a person is claiming to be creating a new platform against mainstream, yet implements the very same mechanisms, then he is kidding himself.
Something so fundamental to society can't just be put together on a whim of:
we will be the road and the shops can figure out the rest.
It needs to be brainstormed intensively. SPEECH is no longer mere words. Distasteful speech in one part of the world is HATE SPEECH UNDER LAW in another. Simply believing that a token grants a person protection is ludicrous. What grants that token value? What makes that community anything more than a little corner of the internet to whoever chooses to tokenize their content? Why does content even need to be a community utlising a token? Fragmentation and worlds without audiences is what will eventuate.
Yet likely 3Speak founders will be taking a cut.
Something that also needs to be made clear.
GROW 3SPEAK FIRST... get a big audience on the platform.
Then go ahead and try to save the world.
