A poem that swelled out of mixed emotions I had during the downpour yesterday. I was home alone and all I could do was stand by my window and write.
Rain, rain, falling down,
A symphony of sound,
Pitter-patter on the ground,
A soothing, gentle sound.
The rain, it brings a sense of peace,
A calmness to the soul,
A moment of release,
From worries that take their toll.
The rain, it washes clean,
The world in which we live,
A moment to pause and dream,
And to ourselves forgive.
So let the rain fall at its pace,
And let the world come alive,
For in this moment, come what may,
We find a sense of life.
Raindrops falling from the sky,
A symphony of sound as they pass by,
The world outside is wet and cold,
But my heart is warm, or so I'm told.
Amidst the rain, my thoughts take flight,
A mix of emotions, dark and light,
Financial worries, love's sweet pain,
All swirling in my mind again.
But as I sit here, lost in thought,
The rain outside a welcome balm,
I find my heart is slowly caught,
In a peaceful, healing calm.
So let the rain fall as its pace,
And let the winds blow as it may,
For in my heart, I'll find a way,
To weather any storm with ease.
