As I may have mentioned in my previous art or fan art post, my mom has been asking me to draw or paint some Ghibli-related stuff for her to post on her wall.
Now, there's only one slot on her wall left, and what she wanted me to make was quite challenging. She asked me to draw Sheeta and Pazu falling from the sky, just like in the LAPUTA Bluray Cover.
Doing the whole thing would take too much time, and given that I'm painting it on 10 x 10 cm watercolor paper, I decided to do Sheeta and Pazu with the castle and the sky in the background.
I have a lot of classes today, but I have a 3-hour lunch break, so our fur baby, Max, can stay in my room during the hottest hours of the day. I use this time to do some of my hobbies, including painting and blogging.
I finished the fan art in a little over an hour, so I still have enough time to share it here before my afternoon classes start.
Allow me to share the progress shots with you below. ^^
I started with the pencil sketch, then outlined them using a 0.1 pen. I'm glad I still have one because my gel pens are mostly 0.5... xD
After I finished the outline, I contemplated whether to use poster paint, acrylic markers, or watercolor pencils. In the end, I decided to go with poster paint.
I started with Sheeta and then Pazu before doing the sky background. I saved a small space for the castle.
After painting the castle in the sky and making the final adjustments, I wrote my username, signature, and date before removing the masking tape I had placed around it.
I also took photos of the fan art from various perspectives. I hope you all like it!
And that's it for this Sheeta and Pazu from LAPUTA: Castle in the Sky fan art for my mom. I hope she likes it!
As for my upcoming artwork and fan art, they'll be for my collection, so I wonder what I'll be making in the coming days.
Anyway, I hope you look forward to seeing them as well. I'll end this post here. Thanks for checking, and see you around! (^^,)/
