It's another busy week at work for me. I've been working eight to nine hours a day, but it's been smooth-sailing and fun. I stretched my schedule, so I still have some breaks in between. These breaks are important for me since I could relax, stretch and so some of my hobbies.
In one of my classes today, I met a little boy named Andy. It's the second time that he took my class and during our first class, he showed me a bunch of drawings that he made. He also has some Pokemon sticker collection. He's so talkative, so I really enjoyed listening to his stories.
He was also really curious about my art materials, so he asked me to show him my artworks as well. He enjoyed them. Earlier today, he booked again and we just drew something while having a chat.
I was quite far from my art materials, so I just grabbed my oil pastel. I've had this for a long time now, but I'm not really keen on using it because it's so messy.
Andy decided on a theme and he chose nature and landscapes. He drew a very detailed playground with some swings, slides, seesaw, and so on. He also drew some trees in the background. Sadly, I couldn't take a photo of his drawing.
He's just about six years old and he reminds me so much of my cousin Godwyn when he was around that age. We also used to draw together while having a chat about dinosaurs and other stuff that interest him at that time.
My student was the same. While we were drawing, he kept on telling me stories about insects, rockets, space, and so on. Kids are really impressive.
This was what I made. hahah We both drew for roughly 20 minutes while talking. He liked my drawing despite it being messy because of the material I used. I really don't know how to use oil pastel. haha
He especially liked the sunset, so he told me that he's going to draw one as well and show me tomorrow. He said he'd ask his mom to book my lesson again. He's so adorable. Sadly, my schedule is already full tomorrow, but his mom promised him to book my class next time.
I also admire his mom because she lets him explore the things that he likes. She's very supportive. I guess that's also one of the reasons why Andy is very bubbly and confident despite his age. He enjoys learning and doing things he likes.
I've witnessed some parents forcing their kids to learn something and even shouts at them during my class. I feel sorry for them, but it's awkward to tell the parents to stop, so I just try to make the student enjoy while learning. I understand some parents' concerns, but they should also allow their kids to breathe... and allow them to experience being kids... (^^,)/
