Hello Steemians! ^^
Finally, I was able to sort out pictures from my and @akielle's 9th bestie anniversary.
It has been 9 years since I and @akielle became best friends. We actually met in the University. We were classmates, but we weren't that close. We have a common friend, and she happened to go abroad on our second year, so I and
@akielle started spending time together. It's funny because in our second year, we weren't classmates anymore, but we became really close to each other... ^^
And so, a week ago, we celebrated our "Bestie Anniversary"!!!
We did something we haven't done together in the past... ^^ Here's what happened during our anniversary...
First, we met in the jeepney stop and decided to go to Sto. Niño Church. She told me when we were planning for our celebration that she hasn't been to this church ever since she came back from the US, so I decided to include it in our itinerary.
Santo Niño church is one of the oldest churches in Cebu. A lot of people, be it locals or foreigners, gather in this church especially during Sinulog Festival.
We lit some candles to thank God for the blessings that we have received and asked him for guidance and safety.
Actually, we decided to go to LapuLapu City and celebrate there. It's known for its lovely beaches and it's the nearest from our place. Aside from that, my aunts and cousins live there, so we could stay overnight for free... haha~
There are a lot of ways to travel from Cebu City to LapuLapu City. We can use car, jeepney, van, taxi, etc. However, I and my bestie wanted to go there by Metro Ferry! We haven't done this together, so we took the opportunity to try. I haven't boarded the Metro Ferry since I was in elementary... so it was exciting for me!
First, we paid for our ticket... ^^
Metro Ferry is in Pier 3... We usually just pass by this area, so yeah... we have to take a DUOfie... lol
Before riding the ferry, we had to go through some process. In this area, we have to present our ticket and pay for our terminal fee. We also had to log in our names.
Here's a picture of the terminal ticket. We had to give this to the people in the gate prior to boarding the ferry.
And so, here we are!!! Whew!!! ^^
There's our destination!!! Mactan Island/ LapuLapu City is roughly 20 minutes away by Metro Ferry.
Upon arrival, we went to another church, Birhen sa Regla. We weren't able to take pictures because there were a lot of people due to the ongoing mass. So, we just lit some candles, prayed, and headed to my aunt's house.
One of my aunts live very near the church, so we just walked for like 5 minutes. The day before our anniversary, I informed my aunts and cousins that we're coming over, and one of my aunts invited us for breakfast. ^^
We were both surprised because she prepared special and delicious food for us. She said, it's her gift for our anniversary.
Pasta is LOVE... <3 <3 <3
Fruits... They were so sweet! Yummy~!! ^^
Grilled chicken... My bestie loves chicken!!! hahahaha xDD
After breakfast, we had a chitchat with my aunt and my bestie invited her and my cousins to join us at the beach... The more the merrier, isn't it? My aunts and cousins agrees, but they won't be there until late in the afternoon. After finalizing, we left my aunt's house and transferred to another aunt's house. hihi~
We decided to stay over this aunt's house. Whenever I go to LapuLapu, I usually stay in this house, so my aunt invited us to stay overnight! ^^ That way, we'll be able to spend more time together!
When we arrived, my baby cousin/my son, Godwyn welcomed us with his Jollibee toys. My bestie loves Jollibee, so my cute little cousin gave her a couple of toys. She was so happy!
My aunt and Godwyn had other plans for the day, but luckily, that plan was cancelled, so they were able to join us at the beach.
At around 3PM, we arrived at the beach house. It's just 15 minutes by tricycle from my aunt's house.
We stayed at this cottage. The place was awesome! The ambience was so good and the sea breeze was awesome. It was still a bit hot, so we decided to explore the place first.
Here's my aunt and my baby cousin/son.
The place also have a beach house for guests who plan to stay overnight! ^^
There were also some birds and lizard in the place, so my cousin had fun looking at them.
At around 4PM, we decided to go to the beach side. Unluckily, it was low tide... hahaha... Epic fail??? Nahh~ I actually didn't plan to go swimming. I don't know how to swim so simply feeling the kind waves on my feet and experiencing the sound sea breeze are enough for me.
Godwyn enjoyed it though... hahaha... And can you spot the rainbow behind him??? <3 Isn't it lovely?!
Here's a clearer view...
We stayed there just chatting, eating and enjoying the place. At around 6PM, my other aunt and two other cousins came. We weren't able to take pictures anymore because we were already having fun. We played some music and danced around, ate a lot of food and had a great time.
I'm so glad that my family welcomes my bestie with open arms. She's
After leaving the beach, my two other cousins who came later decided to sleep over my aunt's house too!
So the non-stop chitchat continued and we also had an art class before going to bed. ^^
I'll be sharing some drawings from the art class in my next post, so please look forward to seeing them.
Now, my bestie's back in the US but of course, we'll be having more and more anniversaries to come!!!
Thanks a lot for dropping by!
Love lots,
