When we help others, we forget to worry.
If you stop to think one way or another, basically we always live with uncertainty. Living in the here and now, noticing joy in small things and being grateful for our blessings is the best defense against our fear of the unknown.
For example, your partner may tell you that he is thinking about leaving the relationship. You are devastated because you do not want the relationship to end.
You can waste your physical and emotional energy chasing that person with frequent calls and text messages, reviewing their activities on social networks, annoying your friends with your discomfort, losing sleep without focusing on work and feeling depressed and anxious.
The alternative to living with this type of uncertainty would be to remember that you had a life before that person and that you will continue to have one. Take care with good nutrition and exercise. Observe your anxiety before "acting" destructively. Take a deep breath and participate in activities that calm your mind.
Look for safe and understanding professionals that will help you on your own. Give what you are looking to achieve by helping others and remember that you are part of a much larger image with many options.
Keep in mind that the first ineffective approach focuses on trying to control the other and the second healthy focus is on controlling yourself and taking care of yourself.
