After playing Splinterlands for some time now, I decided to invest in my first more expensive card.

The Mighty Dri- wait, I mean, the Furious Chicken!

I obtained this fine bird on the MonsterMarket.io. The great thing about MonsterMarket it that you’ll get a generous cashback in Dark Energy Crystals just for buying cards on their marketplace.

I have no doubt in my mind that this will pay for itself over and over during my Splinterlands battles.

I’ve heard that once this card was released it was given away for free. I cannot verify this, but I’ve read guides from around six or eight months ago which stated that you could buy it for less than $0.50 on the market.

Just weeks ago I saw it myself selling for roughly $29.00 and stupidly, I held off. Today I bought it for $36.52. Ouch! Talk about value appreciation. Wow!

Why Did I Buy A Chicken?

The Furious Chicken doesn’t lay Furious Eggs that could both feed me and be sold for profit, unfortunately.

What the Furious Chicken does do is sneakily powerful. This is the only 0 Mana card in the game.

This means that it’s a free distraction for enemy snipers, and a free extra tank when running the cannon fodder tank tactics. All it requires is a free slot, so it’ll be used in literally every low cap mana I’ll ever play until the heat death of the universe finally snuffs us out. Possibly I over exaggerate a bit, but it’s not far from the truth.

It’s a free shield for my caster-heavy deck. It’s the squad leader for my cannon fodder. And it’s a loyal soldier in the chicken uprising. What more could I ask from this distant relative to Rexxie?

This little chicken didn’t cross the road, but it will cross a lot of enemies on the battlefield who will learn to fear this mighty chicken.
