Today Im going to talk about another amazing monster from Splinterlands called Drybone Megalodon
Drybone Megalodon is a Rare Reward card that belongs to the Fire element It is designed to be used as a frontline tank and it deals melee damage Many experienced Splinterlands players recommend placing this monster in the first position because it is extremely durable and can enable powerful melee combinations while providing great utility to the team
What Makes Drybone Megalodon Special
The biggest reason this monster stands out is its Flank ability
When Drybone Megalodon is placed in the first position the monster directly behind it gains the Reach ability This allows a melee monster in the second position to attack the enemy even if it doesnt naturally have Reach
This is a huge advantage because instead of relying on just one frontline attacker you can have two powerful melee monsters attacking from the very first round Drybone Megalodon attacks from the front while also allowing the second monster to join the fight immediately
As the card levels up it unlocks additional abilities. One of the most useful is Retaliate
With this ability whenever an enemy hits Drybone Megalodon with a melee attack there is a 50% chance that it will strike back and deal damage to that enemy
Strengths
Drybone Megalodon has several impressive strengths
High Health and excellent durability making it a reliable frontline tank Strong melee attack that deals solid damage. The powerful Flank ability which is the main reason many players use this card Retaliate at higher levels, making melee attackers think twice before attacking it A perfect fit for aggressive Fire-element lineups Weaknesses
Like every card in Splinterlands Drybone Megalodon also has a few weaknesses
Its biggest weakness is against teams that rely heavily on magic damage as magic attacks can defeat it more quickly
Another drawback is that if Drybone Megalodon is eliminated early your team immediately loses the benefit of its Flank ability
It also performs best in medium and high mana battles where you have enough mana to include strong support monsters alongside it.
Is It Worth Upgrading
In my opinion yes
If you enjoy playing Fire teams upgrading Drybone Megalodon is definitely a good investment. It is considered one of the strongest reward cards and its stats and abilities become even better as it gains levels. Abilities like Retaliate make it much harder for opponents to deal with.
