I am beyond a state of confusion.

Yes, I know I usually share my political views on Mondays or well that was the plan when I started sharing the political shit going on in my country (I keep typing our country but then I realize that not a lot of South Africans are on Hive. There are a few but they are very few)

Anyways.

I don't believe I've told many where I'm from exactly in South Africa. I live in a town called Bloemfontein in the Free State, it's was branded as a metropolitan a few years back but we don't fall into any category that makes a metropolitan a metropolitan. (Yeah never mind that) our government makes and breaks the rules of everything as they see fit. Well some interesting stuff happened in Bloemfontein the last week or two, it's awfully dull to be honest but when the government actually does their job is a sight to behold believe me!

Last Week Monday I Wrote A Little Rant About The Condition Of Our Roads.

Would you believe me if I told you that since then they've actually started fixing the roads, well why won't you believe me?

Would you believe me if I told you that they only fixed a specific set of roads, not all of them and not chosen at random to fix.

Last week Friday was a public holiday in my country, it was Youth Day (I still went to work because fuck it I don't want to be classified as the youth of this nation, come to think of it I'm not youth anymore, shit that's even more scary than the dire state of our nation.)

Now on Youth Day they arranged for The Deputy President Paul Masatile to address people that day, now whenever a political public figure is expected to be somewhere or something of the sorts they come rolling in with a convoy bigger than the one convoying the US President. Lights flashing and trust me they don't give two shits, rather than close down the roads they will just run the red lights and most likely push people off the road, that I can expect of them.

This is where is gets ironic, there is never any will to fix the roads, oh and especially if it's for the people of this country but as soon as someone who thinks that they are "important" has to come visit or just pass through by use of a motor vehicle, oh of-course then they will put in effort on all fronts. Why is that?

Just To Add A Cherry On Top Of This Shit Pile.

Usually when they plan on constructing a new road or refurbish an old one it takes anywhere from a year up until, well until they decide they want it finished.

But when it's for them they can have a road stretching for almost a kilometer fixed up and patched up within two days! TWO DAYS! Let me be blunt here, I almost flipped the car in shock of driving home the next day on a smooth road, I could not believe it! There I was thinking I have to find an alternative road to use for the next five fucking years.

Truely, I'm not even joking.

Back in the day, I think it was somewhere around 2008 and 2010 I can't really recall. Well back then I was still living in a different part of town and close to our house they had this highway on and off ramp and the road leading to it was about 700 meters long if not shorter. _I kid you not they took almost six years to completely refurbish that stretch of road, I just entered high school and by the time I left high school it still wasn't done.

I know it sounds like I might be over exaggerating but really I'm not. Take this for instance, back in 1994 the ANC government was given control of South Africa. They promised their own people housing, education, medical services, transportation, clean drinking water and electricity. 29 years later and their own people are still living in shantys all across this country of ours.

They promised a better life for all in this country, instead those in power have taken care of themselves and the rest well not their problem.

Almost 30 years later and we are still a developing country! As I had it we were a first world power. Now? Now we're nothing but a joke.
