Well Hello There Travelers And Hivers
So lately myself and the Betty went exploring on the outskirts of town and came across a vintage Venice or roman looking village. Well I say village because it does give me a feeling that it could be some sort of community, it isn't though it's just some fancy place where they hold venues such as birthday parties or even marriages.
I said it gave the feeling of vintage Venice or Roman looking. The buildings and basic architecture of it all made me feel as if I stepped into a whole different world from the one I am currently living in, I swear it felt like I was sucked back a couple of hundred years! The stains on the edges of the walls and windows along with the flourishing plants and decorations outside such as the tables and chairs and most of all the random statues covering the place.
I didn't get a lot of pictures of the buildings, the reason why we were in that area of town was to pick up the sister from a photo shoot before her wedding previous Saturday. So when the call came we had to up and leave and race to her!
Well you know I wouldn't want her being late for her wedding on my accord!
One can almost say it's a community or it can be transformed into one very quickly. It's almost as if all the buildings have their fronts faced towards each other, creating some sort of communal vibe I'm not sure what one can call it really?
Well this is definitely Roman inspired! Or I can be wrong maybe not.
I think what gives it the Roman architecture look for me is the fact that it has those giant pillars at the entrance of the buildings and mostly here and there around the buildings. Almost like a place where the politicians and rich folk of the Roman order gathered to feast.
Not to mention the roofs, I know it does look quite modern but Roman architecture loved and adored the reddish roofs. That is something that stands out quite expressively from their architecture and way of building.
What adds to the look most is the way it is decorated with those little statues in the gardens as well as the metal guardrails in front of the windows. Well I say guardrails but it definitely isn't guard railings 馃槀 Well those top thingys I'm no decorator so what they are called is beyond my knowledge馃槀
I have to admit what added most to the vibe of this place (oh and it did have one hella nice vibe to it) was the fact that is had so much plant life between the buildings, everywhere you walked you actually breathed fresh air and experienced the flora first hand. It would have been a sad endevour if the whole of the place was paved out making it look dull and boring.
If you changed paths suddenly you were bound to go through some bushes and wide gardens to get to the other side. The birds chirping around you and the insects buzzing around.
Vibes Upon Vibes
It felt like a village smack dead center of a forested area!
The inside of the houses looked more along the lines of Victorian fashion, having hanging chandeliers and wooden steps and furnished with the most beautiful of wood cabinets, tables and chairs!
As if that wasn't enough they added some beautiful art pieces through out the homes.
Again I don't really know the correct term or if I even have the correct term by saying that the insides looks Victorian . But that doesn't matter.
Now I do have to say, in the past few years my life and the way I saw it changed dramatically. Mainly because of the job I was able to get and because of a very special lady in my life, in which I realized I need to start acting my age I call her my Betty or Boo her Hive handle is @misshugo go check out her profile.
Okay that sidetracked very fast 馃ぃ what I was trying to say is that I have never really found beauty in these things, you know? Such as chandeliers and wooden furniture and all of that nonsense! But hey I suppose growing up does that to one.
Chair Fit For A King
Soooo the furniture, why did I say I fancied the furniture?
Well well would you take a look at these chairs! It's not the Iron Throne by they do seem like chairs fit for a King and Queen!
There were two next to each other covering the entrance to the house. Come to think of it, it would have been nice to get two photos of me and the Betty next to each other. But then again it was only the two of us so there would have been no one to take the photo. 馃槀
Am I allowed to feel proud 馃榿
Laughs so I ain't no real King but for those few seconds on that chair might have told me otherwise!
P.S I don't even know if I was allowed to sit on the chair, there wasn't a single soul insight, not anywhere on the premises, so I sat my ass down for a quick photo which the Betty took.
Lions head where the hand rests are
Only one of the many art pieces found in the houses, I didn't have much time left to take any more but atleast I was able to snap one. Or well the Betty was able to snap one and said I was free to use it. 馃檪
I saved the best for last, when I stood up on that porch with the thoughts in my head of this being a Roman palace and what not. I imagined how it would have been back in those years if they held a feast with all the guests treading about below and the high lords of the palace wining and dining upstairs.
More so I wondered what life would have been like back in those days? Never knowing what will happen tomorrow, ofcourse we don't really know what will actually happen on the morrow but we have more of a certainty that we'd wake up tomorrow than back in those days? Or am I completely wrong in that sense?
