If you an avid steemian you would be awe, shocked, surprised, encouraged about the boost to the price of steem and sbd dollars, it’s like the universe just threw the platform a bone and validated that it exists — whatever the reason, whatever the market forces their is a clear indication, people want steem and they want the steemit platform.
The revolution will be live, on demand, multi-honed, decentralised, incentives will be rife, participation will be cross referenced in real time with multiple blockchains that track our locations, health, fitness and will feed into open data silos assisting us with AI data driven results giving us our own personal blockchains that we will build around our lives.
the people who flex these skills into micromanaging their own lives will have true flexibility about the way they want to live. over the course of the last six months I’ve seen how participation blockchain culture can empower an individual to switch from focusing on the ‘out of date’ ideal of just ‘working for the man’ spending our time working in a job or trade we no longer like or believe in.
we have the ability to now switch that up into our own interpretation of how we can use the latest processes and technologies to improve that work or trade to be flexible to fit around the modern day worker instead of being ridiculed or suffer in silence and just accept the de facto, that it’s just the way it is and that’s it, to be shackled by the out of date narrative that we can’t dream big and have the life we’ve dreamed off when that’s simply not true.
The truth is blockchain brings about not just a technology but a layer of truth to our interactions, they are timed, costed, invested in, upvoted, empowered, we trade in time slices like time bandits sharing moments in parallel across the world in and out of other peoples lives with speed and ease like never before, blockchains are the connecting global phonebooks of the human race.
2018 is the year of the blockchain
After seeing the explosion of steemit in the last few days and after feeling at one with myself at steemfest 2 in november 2017 that I’ve been to the best party in the world with everyone being pumped and excited to ‘human’ I came back with a renewed sense of self where I was determined to focus more of a life powered by blockchain and a continued decentralisation to my life and wow has it paid off — not only do I look at the things I buy and the reason why I consider if it fits into my future lifestyle, where I keep things moving instead of being tied down to one job, one place, one path.
I truly believe that this is year WAY PASSED crypto currency that the WORD of revolution of blockchain will be realised. I’m side stepping the ICO world, I feel that’s the new social media snake oil. I’m not interested in something happening in 3/5 years time. I’m interested in today, I’m interested how I can make the world better today and tomorrow and then the next day.
because let’s be honest with ourselves if we listen to mainstream media we don’t have the luxury of time anyway — let’s invest in what we have now and shape that to use full open data silos instead of the old ways which are hidden and out of sight from us fully realising a global effort to fix all the issues that exist on this spinning piece of space rock.

attention economy will require us to shift gears quick
The current social media guru will tell you that you need CONTENT. What they don’t tell you is that everyone is playing the CONTENT game and creating CONTENT takes time, time for you to make, to track the response, to engage, to take part in virtual space with an audience that might not even be customers of yours yet, even not customers just audience you never knew enjoyed what you did — it all has a cost, a cost to take part.
if your content is coming from a source where you can also be paid to not only be part of the conversation by commenting and feeding back but also writing your own content to pay for future content within the network all of a sudden you start re-writing the ruleset as to what promotion, pr and marketing actually are, all of a sudden the system starts to feed itself and the best work rises to the surface — the ones who can be agile enough to shift gears in this attention based economy will garner more attention and ultimately success in a realm where blocks of data in a ledger are written away for being social and showing up instead of drive by content.
no more begging, no more grants, accountability
Only a few years back I would spend weeks at a time putting ideas together, writing out grant applications, making content, suggesting ideas, getting drunk at network mixers and giving my brain away for free. I’d literally inform someone what was on trend and they would go and exploit the crap out of it to garner some more money out of the European matching excel spreadsheet pseudo faux economy of new money — it was a crab shoot and you had to be in the realm of familiars (think vampires) to get access.
Now, I can just build what I dream, if I have an idea, I just make it. I don’t have to play the game like they set the rules anymore. I can build and my attention economy will either direct me to being behind it and understanding it or will advise me a better way of doing it more efficiently and effectively — to make matters better if I want to I can send them funds in less than 3.5 seconds and at no transaction fees to purchase some of their creative time to help me realise these dreams.
When was the last time facebook or twitter gave you support like that? the models of support creatives and creative content makers is changing and changing fast, the shape of this whole ecosystem is like a rapid moving art scene and we are all part of adding in another viewport to how it should work every time we show up and make a blog — that’s powerful, decentralised attention span.
hustle replaced with scale of incentive economy
I’ve always had a little bit of personal aversion to the word ‘hustle’ it implies that you have to dash through in a hectic approach, talking ya face off (yet backing it up) with the most recent and relevant information and that just by maintaining that you will achieve what you desire, while that’s great and all that word doesn’t fit I feel in a decentralised attention economy where the words move like waves, instead your actual deliverables, what you do, what you make will be what will incentive you and your projects to prosper.
no more speculation hustle economy but actual real world equations based on effort, research, intention, outcome, vulnerability - the very basic forms of expression that sometimes us humans forget to express when the world around us spins so fast.
