Playout is a free menubar app that can save the window position of any application, and then restore it with one click. Create layouts and play them with hotkeys.
been looking for a little application that can do this on the mac desktop for a while. finally found it. makes configuring layouts a lot easier, saves a little bit of time, especially good if you are going from a two screen to one screen streaming setup -- check it out, only for the mac right now thou.
