so i was asked by 
let the gif load at the bottom of this post and select HD for the video playback to get both versions the best you can display. i'm really pleased with how it came out! :)
so, the first thing i did was went looking around his blog and for assets that i could use, i knew straight away that i was gonna end up over delivering on this because i wanted to not only do a good job but really concentrate on it and make a suite of assets for him to use.
i didn’t really cost it i just said to him to come up with a price of value that worked for him, i think that’s always an interesting thing to do, i really had no idea what to cost this at so instead of getting bogged down with the money side i just cracked on.
some of the things i realised straight away i wanted to do
- make sure that the ‘mad as a hatter’ is prominent and and stands out
- consider animating the eyes to be subtle as a cinemagraph later on if he wants an iteration on it.
- search for a mad hatter font (http://www.fontspace.com/category/alice%20in%20wonderland)
- use sentences in the animation - ‘we are all mad here’, ‘it’s always tea time’, ‘have i gone mad’, ‘down with the bloody red queen’, why is a raven like a writing desk’
but then i also got into making and came up with this first iteration, i kinda got inspired — [make sure you switch on HD]
i think the first draft came out pretty good, maybe he will want to make this the final one, but i’m open to changing it or making changes to it. i think the 10 second video intro works well and i managed to get a gif version working out pretty nice as well. whatcha think? like it?

he loved it, i changed the text placement to the left and added another line, glad i went simple as i think it really stands out.
