what is the job or task you believe the witnesses do and would you consider being a witness?
today's question to the adventube squad is about the steem blockchain witnesses, do we know what they do, what does that look like, should we know the in's and out's of what the witness nodes do if we use this platform, do we have an easy way of explaining that to the masses, are they even interested in how something runs or are they just interested in the front of house with the apps and comfort blanket of a lovely UI? -- the truth might probably lay in that we need to have a balance between securing the chain and bringing masses of new and engaged users that stay around for the platform and the buzz of the deployment of similar styled applications that they have already been using.
certainly about time that steem was back in a top ten somewhere on the internet -- https://www.stateofthedapps.com/rankings -- follow the data, get informed, see who's using what technology and get behind those communities.
two years in, the steem blockchain is in a perfect position to pick up the slack of the fall out of the discontent of users fleeing other platforms embroiled in drama from data breaches or demonetization because of the hard line tactics of supposed cost savings or pandering to the needs of the advertisers, in effect, centralized platforms are being sanitized.
from platforms like facebook, tumblr, youtube you can see the constricting effects starting to take hold as marketing departments make snap decisions in an attempt to be relavant and realtime against other platforms that have already built out the tools to deal with the world of the real time opinion, we have an opportunity if we show off our turnkey immutable blockchain and how powerful this collection of people who frequent this chain on a daily basis are.
