Humanity Still Exists: Outreach Feeding Program for Aeta Learners
Humanity still exists.
Last weekend, a man with a kind heart fed our Aeta students and left them with a beautiful memory that will last a lifetime.
When one of our co-workers told us that his uncle and his family would be conducting an outreach food program for our Aeta students as their yearly thanksgiving, we were overjoyed.
We are delighted they have chosen to share their blessings with us at our school.
Every year, Mr. Godofredo and his family have a thanksgiving celebration, but this year they want to add a special touch by giving to others who are more in need.
They are from Bataan, which is 86 kilometers from Zambales. However, they must go as early as possible because we will travel to our school for about two hours from our town center.
They were overjoyed when we got to the school since our Aeta students welcomed them with gorgeous smiles and an air of excitement for the day. It is undeniable that they patiently awaited the guests.
In front of our pupils, Mr. Godofredo and his family were given a warm welcome to the program.
After that, Mr. Godofredo Lacsamana had the opportunity to express his gratitude for having the fantastic opportunity to be able to share what he and his family had.
Many of us shed some tears during his speech as he shared his life experiences. He said that they rose from poverty to wealth. Before enjoying such a good life, they had to overcome several obstacles.
He was delighted that they could now share and help those in need.
Before we started our feeding program, he allowed our Aeta students to have fun playing several games they had created. The games "stop dancing," "journey to Jerusalem," and "the boat is sinking" are popular among Filipinos.
Stop Dance
Everyone will dance while playing this game when the music plays. Once the music is stopped, each player must freeze and maintain that position until the music resumes immediately.
Trip to Jerusalem
This game of chance is also referred to as "musical chairs." Players battle for a finite number of chairs here by surrounding them; when the music stops, the one with the final chair is declared the winner.
The Boat is Sinking
One of the most popular and simple-to-remember group exercises is The Boat is Sinking. It serves as what I like to refer to as a transition exercise that aids in establishing groupings.
Our Aeta students were also able to showcase their dancing talents. A few of the Aeta parents got up and started dancing, also.
Mr. Godofredo gave them money as a reward. As a result, every single one of our students and parents was happy to get their award.
After all the games and showcasing their talents, we help others to distribute the food to our Aeta learners and their parents.
Everyone was excited to consume the delicious food we had prepared, especially our Aeta students.
Our Aeta students prepared various vegetables for them as gratitude for what they had given.
I realized that humanity still exists. That someone is still out there ready to give what they have and aid others; and there are people out there who make an effort to comprehend others, see people's troubles for what they are, and assist them.
Care and assistance to others are fundamental precepts of humanity. It's all about lending a hand when someone else most needs it.
Never forget that we don't need to be wealthy to treat people with humanity. Even the poorest person can demonstrate empathy by lending a hand to a stranger and sharing their meals, even in the most basic manner.
Humanity is a representation of interpersonal love and compassion. Remember that human values enable us to develop and succeed in life.
