REITs currently make a substantial portion of my "nest egg" assets, that portion of my inflows set aside, and thereafter intended to be held indefinitely until passed on to the next generation (with them, doing the same, if I have done my job as a parent well enough...lol)
Anyway here's the ones I hold long...
GOOD - Gladstone Commercial, my favorite commercial real estate REIT. Receiving strong monthly dividends like clockwork makes a good analog for having tenants of my own. But without the late night emergency maintenance calls 😀
WY - Weyerhaeuser, America's largest timber land REIT, they also prospect for oil, natural gas and minerals on their land and try to find optimal economics uses while being good stewards. This is very much in line with my thinking for land that I own directly.
LAND - Another Gladstone REIT that invests in farms and farmland.
