Greetings.
I'm a twenty-something year old insane writer with a lot to share with the world and have had a hard time finding an outlet over the years. I had a blog over a year ago where i posted every day for 150 days about what i felt every day. I had maybe 1-2 readers per post so it was quite demotivating and after awhile i gave up and quit writing...bad decision on my part. Communication is in my blood.
Writing has always been apart of me. I remember being 10 years old living in Sydney logging onto my newly acquired yahoo mail account to write my own versions of 'Rugrats In Paris' in different cities. I would take the Rugrats anywhere in my mind and create a new story for the entire family, down to Tommy's dad and his dad's friends. Rugrats in Tokyo against Godzilla, Rugrats in Sydney fighting wallabees, Rugrats in Antartica finding the secrets of the world. I continued to write throughout my early school years but never had good reception from adults as to what i was writing. In 4th grade while living in Singapore i wrote a story for school about two criminals who essentially conned the NFL into a giant bet that the criminals won and they went on to take over a tribe in the Amazon where they ruled over many villages (very Apocolypse Now looking back at it...) and lived a life of luxury all while wearing matching Warren Sapp Tampa Bay Buccs #99 jerseys. My teachers always thought i was crazy or too much. My level of interest was always too high for them to allow me to present in school or share with other parents/students. Teachers would tell me i was talented at writing but my subject matter was too explicit, or too off topic, but it was all i had interest in. I never had interest in anything we were learning because i wanted real life stories and lessons from the REAL world, not regurgitated garbage or made up history about wars and violence that COULD have happened. I wanted my 7th grade english teacher to break down in tears and tell me a heart sobbing story about her lost love and what it meant for her to move on with her life versus reading some historian talk about his experiences ages ago. I craved connection, i craved authenticity, i craved emotional closeness with those around me but was never able to express that.
I am now 24 years old, having grown up all over the world through a series of fortunate and unfortunate events I have now landed in Portland, OR, one of the toughest places in the world to not succumb to crippling depression, anxiety, and social awkwardness.
Great news tho!!! I overcame! I feel like i was put here in Oregon to face my deepest darkest fears, and after three years of battles here, i feel i have finally conquered them all :) Now that all these internal demons, intestinal parasites, and troubling energies have left my body i feel i can go back to what i was seeking as a child through my writing; an emotional connection to my reader.
I have been through so much these past few years dealing with heartbreak, financial struggles, career paths, loss of friendships/family/pets, isolation, desolation and beyond that i feel i am now ready to do what i want again; to write and connect :)
I have so much to share with the world and think Steemit is the proper place to do so.
Here's a giant list of things i am into, upvote if you share one or more of these interests::
