Stacking or collecting? / Kde začíná sběratelství?

The question by @krakonos is, where the stacking ends and where the collecting starts.

In a commentary under my last post, @krakonos asked what else is the accumulation of treasure and what is collecting. I think the border is thin and very different for everone. In any case, the two states intersect.

So I'll try to briefly describe what is my journey to stacking. Yes, my problem is "stackitus". But I'm running into a language problem. I don't know if there is the same meaning between "stacking" (buy as much as possible in terms of quantity) and "collecting" as collect more rarity things. At the same time, I do not know what the correct and appropriate expression would be for the mentioned stacking in Czech. Comments and opinions are welcome.

I do not take the purchase of precious metals one hundred percent as an investment, but rather as a means of preserving value. I've been looking for gold and silver for ten years. Nevertheless, a few years ago I became interested in crypto and so it somehow turned out that I started to accumulate more digital gold. I think about the current monetary system and I believe that we got into phase two out of three last year. But it was for a separate article. I will just write that phase three is the last in my thinking.

So the decision was made, I will diversify and get some silver for me. When we get to the end of phase three, maybe it will be easier to buy a few big packs of potatoes from the farmer for a silver coin than to explain to him that the bitcoin is more... So I started searching what I could buy and I found that silver bars are more expensive than bullion coins. At the same time, the coins are actually beautiful and it is a pleasure to look at them.

So which one will I buy? The most famous are Amarican Eagle, Canadian Maple, Britannia ... And hell, mints issue bullion coins not only in annual issues, but also in series? Well, yes, but when I buy this year's Australian swan (I don't have it yet), it's different every year. What now? Oops, those older issues costs more, if they can be obtained... But I want to buy silver. After all, I don't need to have all bullion coins from the same issue. It can be different. And price? Well, some are more expensive, so-called premium are paid. But the coin is beautiful, it has a limited issue ... And overall, the price matches my counterparts. Hey, they are starting the third cycle of the Lunar series this year, the Chinese zodiac. Nice ... Very nice ... So we'll buy a year of mouse. What? The coin isn't on stock? Where can I get it? Yeah, they have it there ... What? The price is twice the Year of the Ox, which is minted for the year '21? No!!! But I can't have only 11 of the Twelve series in 12 years, can I?

And that's exactly where it breaks. I no longer just feel like stacker. I already experience the feelings of a collector. I bought a year of the mouse and for a reasonable price. But I was looking for it for a long time and waited for it for a long time. But I have it and now I can buy one in series every year. And my mind is peaceful ;)

So maybe you understand how I'm doing and whether I'm hoarding treasure and / or collecting silver ;)

Preserver of value, collection, investment ... It depends too. For speculative reasons, I bought one of my coins in two pieces of the same coin. And we will see. Maybe I will sell one for more than the current price of silver in the future. Can you guess which one is? V komentáři pod mým posledním postem se @krakonos tázal, co je ještě hromadění pokladu a co již sběratelství. Myslím, že stanovení hranice bude velmi objektivní a pro každého bude někde jinde. Každopádně se oba stavy prolínají.

Zkusím tedy krátce popsat, jak to mám nyní já s tím stříbrem... Ano trpím, jak jsem si sám laicky přeložil, "chronickou stekitidou". A protože jsem zatím posty o stříbrných mincích psal dvojjazyčně, narážím na problém. Nevím zda se v angličtině rozlišuje "stacking", tedy nakupování hlavně co do kvantity, a "collecting" jako spíše to sběratelství, jak ho chápeme my. Zároveň nevím, jaký by byl správný a trefný výraz pro zmíněný stacking v češtině. Komentáře a názory jsou vítány.

Nákup drahých kovů neberu stoprocentně jako investici, ale spíše jako prostředek pro uchování hodnoty. Po zlatu a stříbru pokukuji dobrých deset let. Nicméně před pár lety jsem se začal zajímat a krypto a tak z toho nějak vyplynulo, že jsem začal hromadit spíše to digitální zlato. O současném monetárním systému si myslím svoje a věřím, že jsme se v loňském roce dostali do fáze dvě ze tří. Ale to by bylo na samostatný článek. Jen napíšu, že fáze tři je v mých úvahách ta poslední.

Rozhodnutí tedy padlo, budu diverzifikovat a nějaké to stříbro si pořídím. Až dojdeme na konec fáze tři, možná bude jednodušší koupit pár metráku brambor od farmáře za stříbrnou minci, než mu vysvětlovat, že ten "bitkojn" je víc... Začal jsem tedy pokukovat, co bych mohl nakoupit a zjistil jsem, že jednouncové slitky bývají dražší než investiční mince. Přitom ty mince jsou vlastně i krásné a je radost se si je prohlížet.

Tak kterou si koupím? Nejznámější jsou Amarican Eagle, Canadian Maple, Britannia... A sakra, mincovny vydávají investiční mince nejen v ročních emisích, ale i v sériích? No jo, ale když si koupím letošní australskou labuť (ještě žádnou nemám), ona je každý rok jiná. Co teď? Jejda, ony ty starší emise bývají dražší, pokud se tedy dají sehnat... No, tak já chci kupovat stříbro. Vždyť já nemusím mít všechny mince ze stejné emise. Může být každá jiná. Jo cena? No jo, některé jsou dražší, platí se takzvané premium. Ale když ona ta mince je krásná, má limitovanou emisi... A v celku se mi ta cena stejně zprůměruje. A hele, on letos začíná již třetí cyklus Lunar serie, tedy čínský zvěrokruh. Hezké... Moc hezké... Tak koupíme rok myši. Cože? Ona není? Kde ji seženu. Jo tady ji mají... Cože? Stojí dvojnásobek roku buvola, který je vydáván pro rok '21? To ne! Ale nemůžu mít za 12 let pouze 11 kousků ze série dvanácti, ne?

A to je přesně to, kde se to láme. Už se necítím jen jako hromadič stříbra. Už zažívám pocity sběratele. Rok myši jsem koupil a za přiměřenou cenu. Ale dlouho jsem ji sháněl a dlouho na ni čekal. Ale mám ji a nyní v klidu můžu nakoupit každý rok jednu do série.

Tak snad mě chápete, jak na tom jsem a zda hromadím poklad a/nebo sbírám stříbro ;)

Uchovatel hodnoty, sbírka, investice... Ono se to taky prolíná. Ze spekulativních důvodů jsem (zatím) jednu z mých mincí pořídil ve dvou exemplářích s tím, že bych jednu v budoucnu mohl prodat za více, než bude aktuální cena stříbra. Uhodnete, která z nich to je?
