How many times have we all done this? To be able to get a taste of somebody else's dream is a great way to fire up your dreams. Living in somebody else's dreams can be a sure way to forget about your dreams. There have been many times over my life where I have been fortunate enough to have mentors in my life that challenged me to perform better and the reward was well worth it.
In two different scenarios, one mentor had allowed us to volunteer on his property to get some work done for his next event. We had the opportunity to work several days, work hard and play hard. One of my other mentors would not have us work or volunteer as he wanted to make sure we earned the right to be able to hang around with him. The difference being is one of the mentors pushed you for the association, the other didn't. What's funny about the whole situation here is that, the mentor that pushed us had also mentored the other mentor that didn't push us as hard. You almost lost respect for the 2nd mentor that didn't push you, or at least that's how I felt. I will say that the one that allowed us to volunteer to work on his project did not allow us to volunteer without proving ourselves or achieving something. However, I will say I was able to be mentored by two incredible people. I learned a lot from both of them.
There are seasons in your life and seasons always change. Dreams are the same way. They never stay the same, dreams are always morphing and getting bigger and better. Although the mentors are not involved in my life the way they were (as active mentors), there is a piece of my life that has made me better because of their association. In the movie "Forrest Gump", he says, "My momma always said, "Life is like a box of chocolates. Ya neva know whatcha gonna get." Others dreams are the same way, you neva know whatcha gonna get. As long as you don't dwell in there dream, or live vicariously through them, you will identify new aspects for your dream. Just use the shopping cart method. take what you need or want, and leave the rest on the shelf.
Just some random thoughts on dreams for today. Be well, dream strong, dream bold and know that the universe is conspiring to make all your dreams come true!
