The Poor farm
Good Morning and wishing all who visit a good day
Recently one of my follower son Farcebook asked me if I had any photos of a spot in our city which is officially called Victory park, but for many in the city it is referred to as the poor farm, which is where she asked me if I had photos from there as she has moved to Florida years ago but visited this spot may times when she was young.
I have shared some photos in a post from this spot before but her request had me go back and edit a few more shots from visits I have made to this park

as I said it is officially called Victory Park or at least that is how it shows on the maps, but is known by many locals as Poor Mans farm
if you are wondering like I was about that name here's some history on it
I was intrigued how it got the name of the Poor Farm and looked it up and found
The Poor Farm dates back to 1828, when the then-town of New Bedford purchased 75 acres on Clarks Point for $4,700. In the coming years, the farm was developed into a complex including a poorhouse, a hospital for sick seamen, a workhouse for criminals who committed minor offenses and later a “pest house,” or hospital for people with contagious diseases.
Now its a small park with a pond and a warming house beside it,

I haven't been back there recently, in fact its been a week or two since I got out for a walk, and I am sure its nowhere as green now as it was back when I took these shots

I love the greens around the pond and the times I have bene there it is so quite and peaceful, this next shot was a missed shot of a bird flying over the pond but I still liked it
