Mayflower shots 2 on the ropes
When I did this [post] on the Mayflower I indicated I took quite a few shots and would do an additional post or two on it, and this is post number two focusing on some of the ropes on the ship
I am fascinated by the ropes and knots on old ships for some reason and hence got a few shots of them, starting this shot with a mono shot that I thought worked well, I find mono lets you focus on the details colors can lead the eye around and you dont really notice the cool details

now a shot in color of more of the ropes and pulleys, quite an intricate setup they have here, the one brown pulley and white ropes stans out from the others, and I wonder why they have this, probably a very good reason, but i have never been a sailor so I have no idea LOL

and a close up shot of one of the pulleys I loved the patterns on the wood of this pully and the cool detail of the rope work.

And some more ropes and pulleys, I wonder how much length of ropes there is on an old ship like this must be quite a length I would imagine

And since I started with a mono shot I thought I would finish off with another one I more simple bit of rigging but it still caught my eye

of course, another thing that fascinates me on these old ships are the masts, but that will wait for another post.
