a short walk around the port

Recently I took a stroll around the port here in New Bedford one morning a little bit after sunrise but there were some nice colors in the sky still at the time I was there.
Often I focus on getting shots of fishing boats but capturing the whole boat but for this post I am instead showing just portions of the boats and focusing on some of the details I saw.

This first shot what caught my eye in addition to the nice color sin the sky was the worn detail on the side of the boat and the frame holding the reel that holds the fishing net.

I do enjoy walks down at the port and always it comes to me fishing is such a big Part of New Bedford's history, from back in whaling days when it was one of the richest cities in the world and though to today where it is still one of the busiest commercial fishery fleets in the country.

now I know I have taken and shared similar shots before but when I see two boats lined up bow to bow like this I always think it looks cool and cannot resist taking a photo

NOw the red of boats also seems to catch my eye down at the port and the Captain Gaston Commercial boat is a good example of that so for this shot I went with selective color

and here it is again with other boats tied up beside it.
I guess they must sort of coordinate between ships when they dock like this or else the first boat would be stuck if the other boats didn't head out
