On the corner of Krasnogradsky Lane there is a house, which causes a strong desire to consider its facade as closely as possible. The portraits inside the round medallions are located above the windows of the second floor, i.e. quite high. One of the owners of this house, publisher V. Balashev, during the reconstruction ordered to decorate the facade with bas-relief portraits of Russian writers framed with laurel wreaths.
The author of the sculptures is unknown, but they are executed qualitatively, familiar faces are easy to learn - this is how these writers looked on their portraits in the school book of literature.
I took a picture of the emblem with dividers on the attic window of the house across the street. Some people shout "Freemasons!" at the sight of the dividers, but I will consider this composition an emblem of the Society of Architects until proven otherwise.
The final picture is a general view of the Krasnogradsky Lane.
