Movie is filming

On the same day, when tugboats danced on the Neva River, and theatrical performances were played on the Moika River, another event took place. Part of the Alexander Garden became the scene for the film. It was impossible to get close to the actors, outsiders were not allowed on the set. But I stopped near the ribbons that enclosed the set to watch the process for a bit.

All the actors were dressed in black and were holding big black umbrellas in their hands. I noticed a property man who was running between the actors with a smoke generator, so that the whole scene seemed to be immersed in the fog. In the beginning, the weather was overcast, and everything looked mysterious and romantic. But soon the clouds parted, the sun looked out. Dark figures with umbrellas began to look a bit strange.

I learned from the crew what movie was filmed. It was a film about the life and work of Alexander Vertinsky. Alexander Vertinsky was a pop idol at the beginning of the 20th century. He was a poet and performed songs on his own poems, as well as poems of other poets of the Silver Age of Russian poetry.
