The worst feeling in the world is disappointing the one person who has always been there for you through thick and thin and who supports your life's goals and dreams. It's harder when you look within yourself and realize that all you have done was make excuses rather than accepting responsibility when confronted. How do you make things right by that person, especially knowing that they have been patient and understanding with you over the years? How do you erase the hurt and disappointment you have caused that individual? More importantly, how do you forgive yourself and work towards not repeating the same mistake?
It is my opinion, that one should never wait for one's back to be against the wall to act. This is an opinion I share with my close friends, but yet I failed to heed the same opinion I administer. In processing my actions, I have come to realize that in order for me to move forward, I must accept full ownership for my action. Apart from verbally apologizing to the person I disappointed, I must allow my actions to speak for itself. This I belief is an important aspect in showing remorse for my action. Additionally, the same mistake must not be repeated. After all is said and done, everyone has a breaking point and after a while, I'm sorry sounds like a broken record. I have also come to realize, that while in the process of making things right with my loved one, I must forgive myself.
It is my hope that my actions will speak louder than my words, and that it is not too late. Send positive vibes my way you wonderful people. Have a good day ya'll!
