We saw a lot happening over the last 40+ days. The Zealy campaign was able to generate a lot of excitement.

Before going any further, congratulations to anomadsoul@anomadsoul for all the time and effort he put in. Doing something like that is not easy.

That said, we are see what post-Zealy campaign drop off. While the project itself was a success, it shows how short-sighted most are on Hive. Leofinance is the epitome of presenting an opportunity and ignoring it.

The activity on Leothreads went nuts a few times. This was extremely helpful for the development team. During these time, khaleelkazi@khaleelkazi stated that he went without sleep, doing all he could to keep things going. The fact we had 20K+ thread days provided valuable feedback. Breaking stuff offers insight that is impossible to get with testing.

Now that we got the pleasantries out of the way, lets pull out the heavy artillery.

Can Lead A Horse...

We all know this saying. It has been around for ages, probably because it holds a large degree of truth to it.

So what is this all about?

The campaign saw $10K in prizes directly handed out. At this point, we have to laugh. When we look at things in proportion, we will see how absurd this is.

Here is where we encounter the short-sightedness.

The bottom of the third tier got a payout of 1,505 $LEO. With the present price, we see this is worth $120.40. Naturally, depending upon where you are, this is a decent chunk of change.

This was good for 20th place in the contest. There were 19 ahead of this and all else lower.

For those who use this to adjunct what you are doing, that is terrific. After all, getting 1,500 LEO for a bit more than a month's work is not a bad deal. Of course, this is in addition to all else that was received.

However, for those who only were motivated by the contest, what the heck is wrong with you? By this, I am referring to the people who only engaged because of the campaign. These are the ones who vanished.

Again, this is the epitome of short-sighted.

Over $1 million

Remember when I said $10K is laughable. Let us now look at the contrast.

With a distribution of around 16 million, the price of LEO puts the market capitalization at $1.28 million. This bottomed out not long before the contest around 3 cents. That means the market cap was $480K. That means we saw a $790K increase of LEO in less than two months.

Of course, some might claim that this is not a fair comparison because we are dealing with total versus individual.

Okay, let us look at the same 1,500 but staked. Before the contest, this was worth $45. Now it carries a price of $120. That means, in addition to everything else, the person who started with this stake gained $75. This is more than most made in the contest.

Do you see where this is going?

Stacking Into The Future

Let us take a look at a thread that I upvoted the other day.

Hopefully you noticed the highlighted area.

This is my typical upvote. We can clearly see that the author is going to make .28 LEO on this thread. That amounts to around 2 cents at the level we are at now.

Here is the deal: I do this many dozens of times per day. Each time I am handing out 2 cents. This happens most every day. Even more importantly, I am not the only one. Others like Khal and Onealfa are out there doing the same thing.

How many votes do you think will be passed out over the next 40 days? This is done without a contest taking place. Those who are on threads each day are micro-earning. Each day, tokens flow into their wallets, a bit at a time. The key is volume.

Here is where things get interesting. We have openly discussed the Ad Revenue program for well over a year. This was something that was being worked on during the contest. We see some of the features already going into place.

This is bringing in revenue which will be used to buy LEO and distribute it to Leo Power holders. If we see the price go to 20 cents, what happens?

The author payout on the thread cited here is suddenly 5.6 cents. This is a big difference from 2 cents. While there is no guarantee, many of us are confident that Leofinance will excel going forward.

Therefore, the question becomes not what did you win in the contest? The more important question is what are you doing since it ended?

Many are still on Leothreads, engaging and building towards their future. They know activity on Leofinance will result in tokens flowing into the wallet. Those that can will stack understanding development is likely to take the market price higher at some point.

Unfortunately, the excitement from the Zealy campaign showed how short-sighted most are. While they might have gotten a decent payout, it pales into comparison to the potential over the next year or two.

As the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

Congratulations to those who got a payout. However, double congrats if it was just a supplement to you ongoing threading habits.

That is what one with long-term vision does.
