We need to understand that disruption always comes from outside an industry. It starts at the fringes and takes over.
How many phones did Apple sell before the smartphone? The answer is none because it wasn't in that business.
In this video I discuss how the typical disruption cycle is about 15 years. If we consider the Tesla Model S as the kickoff, that would put us around 2028 for full disruption in the automotive industry to take hold.
