I dont think it ever achieved peer-to-peer money. The way I see it is that it is a store of value. Thus, those with the biggest amounts of money can buy it.

The other coins will end up being what frees humanity. Bitcoin will end up in the hands of a few mega entities when all is said and done. It might take 20 years but that is where it will be.
