In the US, the average income is about $52000...that is 30 times what it was in 1939.

Multiply all those by 30 and see how it compares. I think you will find that much if it is actually cheaper than today.

Besides, are you really going to compare a car in 1939 to one today? Even housing has changed great in that time. What is the average sq footage of a home today? 1,750 and sq ft? What was it then? 1,100? 1,250? Were they energy efficient? Double paned windows? Central A/C and heat? 220 for dryer hookup?

Are you trying to insinuate that life was better in the US in 1939 than it is in 2020? That they were "richer" than we are now?
